Fire concerning

On a bluff about five miles south of Dee Wright Observatory we see a fire that looks to be on Santiam Pass, our destination tomorrow. Disconcerting. Look like Big Lake area or east of that.

    You probably can’t access websites from the trail, but I found a Bend news item that indicates that the fire started Sunday afternoon on the north flank of Mt. Washington. As of 6:20 Sunday p.m., it had burned 15-20 acres, and is believed to have been sparked by lightning. It is considered to be a “priority fire” due to its proximity to Black Butte Ranch, and the fire history of the area. Here’s the link in case you can access it:
