Pebble in the Water Inspiration is about changing the world, one word at a time. Bob Welch believes in the power of such words to make a difference, reflected in a poem he found in the scrapbook of World War II nurse Frances Slanger:
Drop a pebble in the water, just a splash and it is gone
But there’s a half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on.
Spreading from the center, flowing to the sea,
And there’s no telling where the end is going to be.
Through books, speaking and his Beachside Writers Workshop, Welch aspires to remind readers, listeners and writing students that greatness lies not in what we accomplish for ourselves, but in what what we give to others.
